Our story
Born From the Late-Night Study Grind
Nursester didnu2019t start in a boardroom. It started in a nursing-school study group, somewhere around 2 a.m., with a shared spreadsheet of practice questions — and a shared frustration.
Everyone in that group had met the same wall. The famous $400 review courses. Question banks that teased a free version, then locked their best material behind a subscription. Practice tests full of items that hadnu2019t been touched in years — and rationales that stopped at “incorrect.” The tools that were supposed to lower our anxiety were quietly raising it.
So we started building the resource we wished existed. Every question would be mapped to the NCSBN test plan, not to a marketing plan. The pass rule would mirror the real examu2019s 80% standard. Rationales would read the way a good preceptor explains things — the why, the trap, and what to watch for next time. And the core of it would be free, because nursing school is expensive enough.
Nurses, nurse educators, and engineers joined along the way, and that spreadsheet grew into Nursester: 85 practice tests spanning NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN, more than 4,000 blueprint-written questions, and Quiz Genie — an AI tutor that walks through the reasoning behind any item.
